David is an industry veteran with more than 25 years’ experience in content acquisition, co-production and distribution.  He started life as an audience researcher (ITV/Carlton), before a spell as a scheduler at the BBC. 

He moved to Sky where he became head of acquisitions for Sky1 (acquiring series such as BONES, DEADWOOD and LOST – the latter in a much-publicised deal), before then moving to 20th Century Fox where he became SVP and MD of the distribution team based out of London.

His highlights there included the groundbreaking FX output deal with the BBC in 2018. He set up UK-based AVOD streamer YouLook.tv in 2020, before taking over as CEO of London-based indie distributor Beyond Rights in 2021.  He exited Beyond in early 2023 upon its sale to Banijay, setting up his boutique consultancy Bentfield Media, which is mainly focused on the international co-production space.
