Erica Gornall
Erica is an award-winning and BAFTA-nominated director who has filmed and directed documentaries for both major UK and US broadcasters, including the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and HBO.
In 2024, she directed ‘Al Fayed: Predator at Harrods’ for the BBC, which made headlines internationally. This was shortlisted for the 2025 Broadcast awards, the Griersons and won the RTS award for Scoop of the Year.
She has extensive experience over the last decade in gaining sensitive access and filming those who have suffered real life challenges. She filmed domestic abuse survivors for BBC2’s Behind Closed Doors, spent months following the lives of women in Saudi Arabia for HBO and filmed Tessa Jowell in the last weeks of her life for the BBC as she suffered from brain cancer.
She has also series-directed ‘Ghislaine Maxwell: Making of a Monster’ for Channel 4 featuring multiple survivors and made ‘Glitter: The Popstar Paedophile’ for ITV. Her latest feature-length film for the BBC is due out in Autumn 2025.
