Before starting Goat Films, Mel Crawford was an award winning multi-genre Executive Producer, Creative Director and Commissioning Editor.  Mel worked at Comic relief as Creative Director a role she was head hunted into to shake up the charity and re-imagine it’s creative output. Mel has been working in TV since 1997 when she started at MTV Europe as graduate intern and worked her way up the ladder swiftly, becoming one of MTV’s youngest fully fledged producers.

Mel developed First Dates and exec produced Red Nose Day 2019. 

She has previously worked as a development exec and director on pilots and first series of shows such as Deal or No Deal, Secret Eaters, One Born Every Minute, First Dates and 24 hours in A&E and the award winning series of BBC3 shorts Things Not To Say…  Since starting Goat, Mel has won a major commission from ITV for a new Saturday night dating format Romeo & Duet and Goat’s second commission Nella Rose’s Flight Mode for Channel 4 won the Broadcast Digital Award for Best Format in 2023.
