Owen Gay
Owen is a highly experienced executive producer with an exceptional track record in primetime popular factual formats and documentary television. He has successfully launched numerous series for a wide range of UK and international broadcasters, including the BBC, Channel 4, Five, Discovery and NatGeo. He created popular BBC formats such as Departure Lounge, The Flying Gardener, Holiday Hit Squad and Charlie’s Garden Army. His long-form documentary credits include Cold Case (BBC One), Million Dollar Moon Rock Heist (NatGeo) and Fame: Remember My Name? (BBC One). As Commissioning Editor at BBC Television, he was instrumental in the launch of The One Show.
Recent projects at One Tribe include Sex: A Bonkers History for Sky History; Wonders of the Celtic Deep for the BBC, Jonnie’s Blade Camp for Channel 4 and BAFTA Cymru-nominated Liz Johnson: Swimming Against the Tide for BBC One Wales and iPlayer. Owen is currently working on two projects due to TX in the coming months: Shift The Thrift (BBC Network and BBC Wales) and A Kingdom in Chaos (ZDF for German-French cultural channel ARTE and Blue Ant Studios).
