Wendy launched True To Nature in 2016 and with her team have secured 38 commissions including, the BAFTA nominated ‘Predators’ narrated by Tom Hardy, 5X60’, for Sky Nature and Netflix, the ROCKIE nominated ‘Whale With Steve Backshall’, 4X60’, and ‘Shark With Steve Backshall’, 4X60’ which premiered on Sky Nature. ‘Expedition with Steve Backshall’, 20X60’, commissioned by UKTV and distributed to 160+ territories by Fremantle, was a nominee for the Broadcast Digital Award 2023, Game Changer of the Year. Gangs Of Lemur Island, 5X60’ premiered on Sky Nature and was produced for BAM, Love Nature, Smithsonian Networks and Arte, and was followed by Gangs Of Baboon Falls, 5X60’ for Sky Nature. TTN has produced hundreds of Kids and Family nature shows, including the successful CBBC – ‘One Zoo Three’ brand, 56X22’eps with Season 4 receiving a Broadcast Digital Highly Commended Award (2024).
Prior to becoming the CEO and Founder of True To Nature, Wendy spent 25 years at the world-renowned BBC Natural History Unit, including being Head of the NHU, where she built an award-winning track record in wildlife film making and was responsible for delivery of over 1,000 programmes spanning both natural history and conservation.
